Ryan turned his back to Richard, he had to leave him. He shouldn’t have led Richard on knowing full well that he could never commit to a man. Ryan walked to the front door and opened it. Unable to face Richard he kept his back to him. In a soft voice, barely the hum of a whisper, he said, “I’ll pick up some of my things later. Don’t wait up.”

“Ryan.” Richard breathed.

“I don’t want anyone else, but you.”
“What will one more night do, Rich? It’ll make it harder for you to let go…to forget.”
“I want to remember, even if you forget.” Richard argued.
“Okay. I’ll give you one more night, with no promises of tomorrow. Agreed?” Ryan bargained with his lover.
“No complaints from me.” Richard said sadly, this would be the last time Ryan would ever make love to him.
Ryan finished unbuttoning Richard’s shirt and slid it off his shoulders. He turned Richard around and applied pressure to his tense shoulders. “Try to relax.” Ryan breathed into his ear.
